NEW DELHI: ANTI-VAW PLEDGE RECITAL
13 December 2022 – The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi actively participated in the annual 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) by organizing GAD-related activities to raise awareness on the issue. The 18-Day Campaign, which takes place on 25 November to 12 December of every year, is enshrined under Proclamation 1172 s. 2006 and Republic Act 10398.
Among the activities initiated by the Embassy is the Anti-VAW Pledge Recital held on 11 December 2022 at the Embassy grounds, where members of the Filipino community and their Indian spouses and families, as well as Embassy personnel, wrote on canvas boards their pledges to achieve a VAW-free Community and stamped their hands with water-based paints using this year’s PCW-prescribed color palettes.
The participants were encouraged to adopt their pledges by being proactive and consciously aware of their thoughts and actions. The participants also agreed to evaluate during the next year’s edition of the 18-Day Campaign whether they had implemented or practiced what they had written. The collage of canvas boards was also prominently displayed at the Embassy. [END]
