PHILIPPINES TURNS OVER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF ASEAN-NEW DELHI COMMITTEE (ANDC) TO SINGAPORE
24 January 2022 – During the 118th Session of the ASEAN-New Delhi Committee (ANDC), Philippine Ambassador to India Ramon S. Bagatsing, Jr. officially handed over the chairmanship of the ANDC to High Commissioner Simon Wong of Singapore. Under Ambassador Bagatsing’s chairmanship, the ANDC participated and organized various activities such as the ASEAN Day flag raising activity, inauguration of the International Police Expo, meeting with the Global Health Strategies (GHS), sports activities, and engagements with the Ministry of External Affairs of India (MEA).
During the 118th session, Ambassador Bagatsing thanked all the Heads of Missions and their staff for their steadfast support and cooperation despite the challenges and constraints due to the pandemic. High Commissioner Wong, incoming ANDC chair, expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Bagatsing for his drive and ability to push forth all ANDC meetings and events during his chairmanship.
The ASEAN-New Delhi Committee aims to strengthen cooperation and promote understanding between the citizens of India and ASEAN, particularly in political cooperation, trade relations, cultural cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges. [END]
ASEAN NEW DELHI COMMITTEE LUNCH WITH MS. RIVA GANGULY DAS, SECRETARY EAST
22 December 2021 - The ASEAN New Delhi Committee hosted a farewell lunch in honor of Ms. Riva Ganguly Das, Secretary East, Ministry of External Affairs at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, New Delhi.
As a token of appreciation, the ASEAN Heads of Mission presented to Secretary East a plaque of appreciation and token from each ASEAN country.
Also in attendance in the said event were Shri Vishvas Sapkal, Joint Secretary East, Ms. Geetika Srivastava, Director (Indo-Pacific), Shri Bharath Kumar Kuthathi, Director (South) and Ms. Paulomi Tripathi, Director (BM).
