The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi, in coordination with the Indian and Philippine Governments, facilitated the repatriation of 169 stranded Filipinos in India aboard three (3) separate flights from 1 to 10 August 2020.

As part of the Vande Bharat Mission Phase 5, two separate Air India flights from Hyderabad and Mumbai on 1 and 8 August 2020, respectively, carried 51 OFs to Manila. Meanwhile, a chartered Air Asia flight from Ahmedabad on 10 August brought home 118 stranded Filipino seafarers to the Philippines.

With these latest flights, the Embassy has facilitated the repatriation of 788 OFs who were stranded in India and Nepal in thirteen (13) different flights and one sea voyage (through a Philippine Navy ship) since May 2020.
