DFA Undersecretary for Administration J. Eduardo Malaya, accompanied by his Special Assistant Mr. Andre Peter Estanislao, visited India on 9-11 March 2020 to undertake an administrative inspection of the Philippine Embassy in New Delhi.

Ambassador Ramon S. Bagatsing, Jr. and the members of the New Delhi PE team toured Undersecretary Malaya around the 4-hectare Philippine Embassy compound, the biggest among Philippine foreign service posts. Undersecretary Malaya saw the almost-completed repair works (waterproofing, painting and electrical works) being done on the Chancery, the Official Residence, the Consular Building as well as the living quarters of local hires inside the compound.

In an open forum, the NDPE team also had the chance to discuss their individual concerns on specific areas under the purview of the Undersecretary for Administration.  Some of them had their apartments visited by the Undersecretary’s Special Assistant to check if they adhere to the Department’s suitability criteria for living quarters of Embassy personnel.
