16 December 2019 – Philippine Ambassador Ramon S. Bagatsing, Jr. led the Philippine delegation to the 11th edition of the Delhi Dialogue (DD XI) with the theme, “Advancing Partnership in Indo-Pacific.” The two-day DD XI, was jointly organized by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Research and Information System (RIS) for Developing Countries held at Pravasi Bharatiya Kendra (PBK), New Delhi on 13 to 14 December 2019.
The Valedictory Address was delivered by Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar. In his speech, the EAM stated that, “the main takeaway of DDXI is the greater clarity on the direction in which the Indo-Pacific concept is evolving; enhanced interest in specific outcomes from partnerships within existing architecture; and the prospects, however nascent, for coordination between different platforms like ASEAN-India and IORA, albeit for now on specific themes and issues. The path toward a mutually beneficial, free, open, inclusive, and cooperative Indo-Pacific can begin from identifying specific actions to enhance cooperation on issues of broad interest to everyone.” END
