The Department of Foreign of Affairs (DFA), in cooperation with the Department of National Defense (DND) as co-chair and the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Ad Hoc Committee celebrated the 2019 INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW DAY on 09 September 2019.
In 1949, for humanitarian reasons and to limit the effects of armed conflict, different countries around the world established the Geneva Conventions which became the core of the International Humanitarian Law.
