23 September 2018- Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Bhutan’s Queen Mother Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck jointly inaugurated ‘Bhutan Week, a weeklong cultural extravaganza, to commemorate the 50th golden jubilee celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
‘Bhutan Week’ is being organized by the Royal Bhutanese Embassy, in partnership with the MEA, the Indian Council of Cultural Relations and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) at IGNCA Complex in New Delhi from September 23 to 30, 2018 would be the biggest event of Bhutan ever held in India with a cross-section of an estimated 300 participants from Bhutan who will showcase Bhutan’s rich culture and the Bhutanese way of life.
The Inaugural Ceremony on 23 September was attended by Indian government officials, members of diplomatic corps, including the Philippine Ambassador and members of India-Bhutanese community.
