The Philippines through the DOT Representative office in India organized Focus Philippines 2018 in Goa from 25-27 July 2018.

Ambassador Daza addressed some 120 plus travel agents, where she highlighted the event as a good platform for different stakeholders in the tourism sector in the Philippine to interact with travel operators/agents who have come from across India, and as assisting in raising awareness, understanding, and appreciation of tourism destinations, packages and services of the Philippines.

Mr. Dakila F. Gonzales, Head of Office of Product and Market Development for India and the Middle East, Department of Tourism Philippines, reported on the huge increase of Indian tourist arrivals to the Philippines, stating that the number had reached almost 107,000 in 2017 alone. Mr. Gonzales also showed a video which showcased why the Philippines is ideal for Meetings, Incentive, Conventions, Exhibitions (or MICE).

Vice Consul Santos gave a brief presentation on visa application process, procedure and consular services.

B2B sessions also formed part of the program, with over 24 travel exhibitors and agencies from the Philippines engaging with different tourism stakeholders of India.
