30 April 2018- The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi conducted a Gender and Development (GAD) activity in Chennai for the Filipino Community on 28 April 2018.

Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza delivered the opening remarks highlighted the significant role of women in today’s society and how important it is to know one’s rights.

During the forum, Ms. Marichu O. Mabao, Consular Assistant and Attaché, discussed the Magna Carta Law for Women which give protection to women and children against violence. After the forum, a video presentation Violence Against Women’s and Children (VAWC) followed by the featuring of the Great Women in Philippine History. Filipino community participated for a question and answer game. About 100 attended the Filcom gathering.
