19 February 2018 – On 15-17 February 2018, Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza and Mr. Edwin Juan A. Batallones attended the 3rd India Pharma and Medical Device Conference and Exhibition held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
The event, organized by FICCI and the Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizer and sponsored by various manufacturers, was participated in by various stakeholders of the industry such as manufacturers/producers, international and local industry regulators, concerned Indian central and state government officials, medical practitioners, distributors, and representatives of countries buying Indian pharmaceutical products.
India Pharma had for its theme “Driving NextGen Pharmaceuticals,” while the India Medical Device Conference’s had “Affordable, Accessible and Quality Healthcare for All”.
The event provided an opportunity for various stakeholders in the Indian pharmaceutical industry to discuss current challenges and measures to address these challenges, status of compliance of India in terms of prequalification of medicines, pricing of medicines, state of the industry in terms of its share in the world market, innovations both in medicines and medical devices, priority list of medical devices and measures for improvement.
The event included the conference, exhibition, reverse buyer-seller meeting, international regulators meeting, investors meeting, CEOs’ forum with the Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers and the India Pharma & Medical Device awards.
