23 October 2017- Philippine Consul General, ad honorem, in Mumbai, Mrs. Rajashree Birla paid a courtesy call on Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano during her visit to Manila this October.

Mrs. Birla has been Consul General, ad honorem of the Philippines since 10 December 1995.

Mrs. Birla is also the matriarch of the Aditya Birla Group of Companies which established the Indo Phil Textile Mills in Marilao, Bulacan in 1975. It is considered as the first Filipino-Indian joint venture which initially started a production capacity of about 3,000 tpa and 500 employees. Today, Indo Phil is the largest textile mill in the Philippines with a production capacity of 25,560 tpa with own captive power plant of 24.8 MW employing nearly 1,500 people.
