09 OCTOBER 2017 THE PHILIPPINES PARTICIPATION IN THE 1ST EDITION OF THE ASEAN INDIA

09 October 2017 – The Indian Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with Ministry of Culture and Seher organized the 1st edition of the ASEAN-India Music Festival at Purana Qila (Old Fort), New Delhi on 06 to 08 October 2017. The festival is part of the celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations under the theme, "Shared Values, Common Destiny.” 

The Philippines was represented by The Ransom Collective, an indie folk band composed of Kian Albert Ransom (vocals and guitar), Leah Anne Mesina Halili (bass and vocals), Redentor Horacio Claudio (drums), Muriel F.G. Gonzales (violin and vocals), Jermaine Lois Choa Peck (percussion and vocals), and Lily Marie Judiel Gonzales (keyboard and vocals). 

The three-day free entry music festival also included performances by nine (9) other bands from ASEAN and six (6) bands from India. 

The Ransom Collective is best known for winning the first place at Wanderland Music and Arts Festival's pre-event Wanderband competition in the Philippines in 2014. They released their debut album Traces on 20 May 2017. The Philippine band is also one of the selected ASEAN bands to perform at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur on 09 and 10 October 2017.
