04- September 2017- The Philippines participated in the World Ikat Textiles…Ties that Bind Exhibit held at The Bikaner House, New Delhi from 1-16 September 2017.
Organized by the World Crafts Council (WCC); the WCC-Asia Pacific Region and Delhi Crafts Council presented an unprecedented cross cultural exhibition celebrating the rich legacy of Ikat, an age old textile technique stretching across the continents of the world. The exhibition of over 100 items of unique ikat traditions came from more than 20 countries viz. Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei, Japan, India, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Uzbekistan and Tajiskistan.
The Philippines was represented by Mr. Alfonso Guino-o of Alfonso Fashion Davao and Ms. Lucy Catanes of Narda’s Baguio.
