08 August 2017- The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi hosted a short program to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN on 08 August 2017 at the Embassy grounds. The program included a flag raising ceremony, the singing of the ASEAN Anthem, “The ASEAN Way” and the ASEAN Chairmanship theme song, “ASEAN Spirit”, followed by the reading of the Message of Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte as ASEAN Chair.
The celebration was attended by the Ambassadors of the other nine (9) ASEAN diplomatic missions in New Delhi along with their officers, Philippine Embassy personnel, partner agencies, and a delegation from the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
After the program, light snacks were served to all the attendees at the Ambassador’s residence.
The activities at the Philippine Embassy were followed by a lunch hosted by the Thai Ambassador in his residence in his capacity as the current Chair of the ASEAN New Delhi Committee (ANDC).
