17 JULY 2017 DOLLS CHANDIGARH IMAGE

17 July 2017- Officials of the Embassy of the Philippines in New Delhi headed by Ambassador  Ma.Teresita C. Daza visited the International Dolls Museum in Chandigarh on 15 July 2017. The Ambassador turned over three (3) Philippine dolls for the museum’s permanent exhibit. The dolls were received by Mr. PC Sharma who is the OIC of the International Dolls Museum and Ms. Seema Gera, Deputy Curator of the Government Museum and Art Gallery of Chandigarh.

The Embassy donated a doll wearing a Maria Clara gown and a pair of dolls donning the Balintawak attire. These will be the first Philippine dolls from the Embassy included in the museum’s present collection of about 250 dolls from all over the world.

The International Dolls Museum in Chandigarh was established in 1985 by the Chandigarh Government in cooperation with the city’s Rotary Club.
