01 July 2017 – Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza attended the International Conference on Cinematic Tourism-Destination North East India for Media Entertainment Industry with Special Session on ASEAN Countries on 30 June 2017 at JW Marriot, Mumbai. 

The conference was organized by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry India and the International Chamber for Service Industry to promote Northeast Region of India and ASEAN countries through cinematic tourism. The Northeast is India’s gateway to Southeast Asia and is central to India’s Act East Policy.

In her presentation, Ambassador Daza described cinematic tourism, the nexus between films and the promotion of tourism, as well as cinematic tourism’s challenges and opportunities. She also shared developments in the Philippine film industry sector. Two video clips on Philippine tourism and testimonials during the 119th Philippine Independence Day celebration were also shown and which elicited much appreciation.

Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, H.E. Dato Paduka Sidek Ali, Ambassador of Brunei to India, other representatives from ASEAN Missions as well as producers and actors from the media entertainment industry graced the occasion.
