12 June 2017 – The traditional flag raising ceremony in the morning was held at the Embassy grounds to commence the 119th Philippine Independence Day celebrations. This was followed by the messages of President Rodrigo R. Duterte and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Peter Alan Schramm Cayetano as read by Philippine Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza and Deputy Chief of Mission Arvin R. de Leon, respectively.

The morning ceremony was attended by Embassy officials and personnel with their spouses/children as well as those of the attached agencies and was followed by a Filipino breakfast at the Embassy Library.
