27 MARCH 2017 JDCC COUNTER TERRORISM

27 March 2017 – The 2nd Philippines-India Joint Defense Cooperation Committee (JDCC) Meeting was held in New Delhi on 24 March 2017 with Prof. Raymund Jose G. Quilop, Assistant Secretary for Assessment and International Affairs, Department of National Defense heading the Philippine delegation and Mr. Shambhu S. Kumaran Joint Secretary (Planning & International Cooperation), Department of Defense,  Ministry of Defense leading the Indian delegation.During the meeting, the Philippines and India exchanged views on regional security situation in the Asia-Pacific, cooperation on ASEAN Defense Ministers Meeting (ADMM/ADMM-Plus) and ASEAN Regional Forum Security Policy Conference (ASPC), and defense modernization in the Asia-Pacific. The meeting also discussed the status of implementation of activities approved in the inaugural meeting of the Philippines-India Joint Defense Cooperation Committee held in Manila on 18 January 2012. Proposed measures to enhance bilateral defense and defense industry likewise formed part of the discussion.

Prof. Quilop was joined by Brigadier General Eric Uchida of Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Colonel Antonio B. Sotelo Jr. PAF (GSC) of AFP, Colonel Raymundo R. Acorda PA (MNSA), Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attache (PhilDAFA) to India/Representative of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, OJ2, Ms. Meisha Marie Espino of the Department of National Defense, Master Sergeant Allan P Arciaga of PhilDAFA and Ms. Eleanor G. de la Cruz, Attaché (Political Assistant) of the Philippine Embassy.
