The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in New Delhi in partnership with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), Casa San Miguel Foundation, India International Center (IIC) and the Department of Foreign Affairs-Office of the Undersecretary for International Relations (UIER) organized a successful violin concert of Mr. Alfonso "Coke" Bolipata and the 15 member Pundaquit Virtuosi in New Delhi on 06 March 2017.
An audio visual presentation about Casa San Miguel Foundation and its advocacies was shown followed by the concert program which included classical, Filipino and Indian pieces. Their performance at the IIC, a non-governmental institution known for the promotion of liberal humanism, was attended by an appreciative audience of 250 diplomats, government officials and members of the Indian and Filipino community.
The Pundaquit Virtuosi's performance tour is their first outside the Philippines. They will also perform in Mumbai and Pune.
In New Delhi, the Pundaquit Virtuosi also held a pre-concert performance after the Sunday mass at the Vatican Church on 05 March 2017, attended by the Nuncio, diplomats and their families and Indian Catholic devotees. This was followed by a workshop at the Delhi School of Music (DSM), an established institution for the teaching of classical music in India’s capital city. The Pundaquit Virtuosi also performed with the DSM students during the workshop.
