27 February 2017 - The 12th Philippines-India Policy Consultations and 3rd Philippines-India Strategic Dialogue were convened in New Delhi on 27 February 2017 with  Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo leading the Philippine delegation. Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Secretary (East) Preeti Saran headed the Indian delegation. 

During the Policy Consultations, the Philippines and India discussed political, economic, and cultural cooperation as well as the Philippine Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2017 and commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Partnership

The Policy Consultations was followed by the Strategic Dialogue where the Philippines and India discussed defense and security cooperation, including issues on combating terrorism and transnational crime, disaster risk reduction and management, and maritime security. There were also exchanges of views on regional and international issues of common concern. 

Undersecretary Manalo was joined by Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza, Assistant Secretary for Asia and Pacific Affairs (ASPAC) Millicent Cruz-Paredes Assistant Secretary of the Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) Frank R. Cimafranca, Deputy Chief of Mission Arvin R. de Leon, Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col. Raymundo R. Acorda, Chief of Internal Audit Service Atty. Ronald Patrick T. Rubin, Logistics Management Officer Eliezer B. Calucag from the Department of National Defense and other DFA officials.
