13 February 2017 – Dr. Renato C. de Castro, professor in the International Studies Department of De La Salle University in Manila along with the Embassy Attachés participated in the conference on Indo-Pacific region: Converging India-Japan Interests, organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) at Leela Palace, New Delhi on 13 February 2017. As Indo-Japanese relations constitute one of the most rapidly expanding bilateral relations in Asia, the shared values between India and Japan have led to a special strategic and global partnership. Both India and Japan have high stakes in the Indo-Pacific region.  It is in this context that ORF invited a number of well-known scholars and policy makers from Japan, India, Australia and ASEAN to discuss key issues of geostrategy, maritime security and economic cooperation and connectivity in the Indo-Pacific Region.
