25 January 2017 VIM PRESENTATION FINAL

New Delhi, 25 January 2017 –  Dr. Victor Emmanuel Carmelo D. Nadera Jr. lectured on Philippine Culture on 25 January 2017 at the Embassy Library. The special lecture was attended by Embassy officers and staff and members of the Filipino Community in New Delhi.

Dr. Nadera is in India for a series of cultural events including participation in the Hyderabad Literary Festival on 27-29 January 2017 where he will be joined by 12 other Filipino literary artists   who will speak on Philippine literature through time. The Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) is an annual event which draws over a hundred writers, artists, academics, scholars, publishers from India and abroad.

Dr. Nadera is a Professor at the University of the Philippines and Director IV of the Philippine High School for the Arts. He completed his BS and MA in Psychology from University of Santo Tomas and PhD in Philippine Studies at UP Diliman. His awards include the Outstanding Young Men Award (2003), South East Asia Writer Award (2006), The Gawad Pambansang Alagad ni Francisco Balagtas (2015). He has five poetry collections, two compact discs, an epic, a novel, and a research publication on poetry therapy. As a performing artist and actor, he represented the Philippines in  numerous cultural events abroad. END
