10 August 2016- The Philippines as current Chair of the ASEAN New Delhi Committee (ANDC) hosted an informal dinner for the Heads of ASEAN Missions (HoMs) and their spouses to celebrate ASEAN Day on 10 August 2016 at the Ambassador’s Residence.
The informal gathering also provided the opportunity to discuss activities of the ANDC in the coming months. Among these activities are the call on Secretary East of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), a briefing for ASEAN HoMs by the Asian Development Bank and an ASEAN Family Day event by the end of the year. Possible commemorative celebrations for ASEAN at 50 and the 25th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations in 2107 were also raised.
The ANDC is an ASEAN Committee in Third Country, in particular New Delhi comprising HoMs of all 10 ASEAN Member States accredited to India. It aims to, among others, raise the profile of ASEAN in the host country.
