13 December 2015 – The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi successfully participated in the 27th edition of the Delhi Commonwealth Women’s Association (DCWA) International Bazaar 2015 held at the Ashok Hotel.
The Philippine Embassy booth was a success with its crowd-favorite chicken barbecue which sold out quickly. Other Filipino dishes include adobo, vegetable and chicken spring rolls, special fried rice, chicken sopas, pandesal and puto. Several customers stated that they yearly visit the DCWA Bazaar specifically for the barbecue from the Philippine booth.
Passers-by were intrigued by the colourful backdrop of the Philippine booth and inquired about various Philippine tourist destinations. Embassy personnel gave tips on when to best visit the Philippines along with tourism promotional materials.
This year’s participation included 45 embassies and numerous Indian businesses selling wares from organic beauty products to finely embroidered quilts. The day-long event is an annual fundraiser for the DCWA Medical Centre in Zamrudpur as well as a preschool and special needs school.
