02 September 2015 – Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza, presented her credentials as Non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to His Excellency Ram Baran Yadav, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal on 02 September 2015.

The Philippine Ambassador was one of the six ambassadors-designate who presented their credentials on the same date. The five other ambassadors were from, Finland, Lao PDR, Bahrain, Canada and Italy.

After the formal ceremony, Ambassador Daza had a separate audience with the President, where President Yadav spoke of long-standing Philippines-Nepal relations. He expressed appreciation for the assistance extended by the Philippines in the aftermath of the April/May 2015 earthquake in Nepal and welcomed increased cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, training, agriculture (rice production) and education.

Ambassador Daza thanked the President for the opportunity to present her Letter of Credence at a critical time in Nepal’s political development, conveyed best wishes for Nepal’s continued peace, stability and economic prosperity and expressed commitment to strengthen Philippine–Nepal relations in areas of tourism, people to people exchange, training (disaster management) and education.

The Philippines and Nepal established diplomatic relations on 12 February 1960.
