19 August 2015 – Philippine Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza called on nine Ambassadors of ASEAN Member States in New Delhi during her first month at Post.

In her introductory meeting, she gave a brief outline of key areas of cooperation to be pursued; inquired on ASEAN Member States’ experience in undertaking projects including construction and renovation of Chanceries; and reaffirmed commitment to assist in developing awareness of ASEAN in India as well as ASEAN-New Delhi Committee activities.

India’s Look East, and now Act East policy, has provided impetus for further Indian engagement with the region as a whole. Closer ASEAN-India ties offer vast potential opportunities.

For the Philippines, health, agriculture, ICT, education and defence cooperation can be further developed.
