The Nepal-Philippines Chamber of Commerce and Industries (NPCCI) was formally launched in ceremonies at the Philippine Honorary Consulate General Office in Kathmandu on Monday, 3 March 2015.
In attendance for the said inaugural was Consul General, a.h. Suraj Vaidya and Commercial Counselor John Paul B. Iñigo who congratulated the officers and members of the NPCCI for their resolve to strengthen bilateral business ties between the Philippines and Nepal.
A brainchild of Consul General, a.h. Suraj Vaidya, the organization aims to promote bilateral cooperation through investment, trade and technology transfer between Nepal and the Philippines.
Mrs. Roseline Budhathoki is the current President of NPCCI. Mesdames Blessie G. Dhakal, Salvacion P. Shakya, Luzviminda P. Thapa and Floramae Paudel are its Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, respectively, while Marivic A. Gurung and Emma L. Pariyar are the Executive Members.
The inaugural was a kickoff event during the visit of Commercial Counselor Iñigo to Kathmandu, who also gave a presentation on "Doing Business with the Philippines, which was attended by various Nepal Businessmen.
During the event, it was resolved that Nepalese businessmen shall visit the Philippines at a later date both to buy from and display in the various Fairs in the Philippines, which include the Manila FAME, IFEX Philippines, Franchising, Philconstruct, Worldbex, among others.
