New Delhi – Executives of Miguelitos International Corporation (MIC), one of the Philippines’ fastest-rising food franchising, manufacturing and export companies are in New Delhi on a quest to seize opportunities in the rapidly growing Indian market.

Led by founder and President Michelle Aman and Business Development Manager Miguel Aman, the company contingent called on Philippine Ambassador to India Josel F. Ignacio on 16 May.

MIC is renowned for its flagship product, Miguelitos Ice Cream, a popular soft-serve delight in the Philippines. With successful exports to countries like Australia, Japan, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates, the company now aims to expand its market to India.

Ms. Aman and her team briefed the Ambassador, Third Secretary (Economic Affairs) Melissa Anne Telan and Commercial Counsellor Eugenio C. Elevado, Jr. on the company’s profile, and mapped out their franchising and export plans to break into India, one of the world’s fastest growing economies and a huge market for food products.

The meeting saw an animated exchange on India’s opportunity-laden landscape, as well as strategies for best positioning Miguelito’s vaunted range of product offerings and franchising options. The Miguelitos team appreciated the insights provided by the Embassy team on the market trends and structure, consumer preferences and behavior, regulations, and local partnerships.

MIC’s India journey starts with its participation in the India Franchise Show on 18-19 May 2024. Afterwards, the Embassy, through the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in New Delhi, is assisting the company in organizing exploratory talks with potential Indian partners.

Ambassador Ignacio welcomed and commended MIC for its visit and ongoing survey of business avenues in India. “With Philippine companies growing in tandem with our fast-rising economy, the time has come for Filipino corporations to also spread their wings and raise the flag abroad”, said the Ambassador. “MIC is among those at the forefront of the trend of Philippine enterprises seeking growth both domestically and from overseas. This can only enhance our national profile”.

Emphasizing the strong bilateral ties between the Philippines and India, the Ambassador wished Miguelitos success and assured the delegation of the support of the Embassy and the PTIC in the company’s endeavors in the Indian market.  END
