NEW DELHI, 22 January – Recently arrived Philippine Ambassador-Designate to India Josel F. Ignacio received on 19 January at the Chancery officials of BrahMos Aerospace Private Ltd. (BAPL) on their introductory call.
Chief General Manager (Market & Export) Mr. Praveen Pathak and Systems Manager Mr. Rohit Singh apprised the Ambassador-Designate of the progress of the Philippines’ acquisition of the company’s BrahMos Shore-Based Anti-Ship Missile System (SBASMS).
Mr. Pathak extended BAPL’s appreciation for the Embassy’s critical role in urging the project forward and supporting coordination between Manila and New Delhi. The Ambassador-Designate assured BAPL of the Embassy’s unflagging support.
Also present were Vice Consul (Political Affairs) Mr. Mark Anthony P. Dizon and Defense Attaché Col, Rolando P. Gomez.
The Philippine Department of National Defense and BAPL signed a USD 374- million contract for the project, on 28 January 2022. END
