New Delhi – The Philippines celebrated Independence Day in Kathmandu, Nepal in coordination with the Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Kathmandu, headed by Philippine Honorary Consul General Suraj Vaidya.

Around 250 guests filled the Soaltee Hotel ballroom in Kathmandu for the independence day celebration.  Notable attendees were Chief Guest Deputy Prime Minister C.P. Mainali, and General Rajendra Chhetri, Chief of Staff of the Nepalese Army.  The diplomatic corps, Nepali government officials, representatives from the private and business sector also graced the occasion, as well as members of the Filipino community in Kathmandu.
